In a court case it is common knowledge that two witnesses is better than one. The second witness gives confirmation of what actually took place and convincing evidence of the truth. God
knows how to establish truth. He uses multiple witness in all He does to show the way. He knew that a second witness of His Son, Jesus Christ would go among other people and teach them and bless them in other lands. The Book of Mormon is that second witness and record of Jesus Christ and His divinity.
